Day Trips - Chatsworth

Group Description :
chatsworth

12th November - £54
Experience the magic of Christmas at Chatsworth, with a decorated house, entry to the garden, seasonal crafts and activities at the farmyard as well as the Christmas Market with over 100 stalls featuring handcrafts and locally sourced festive fayre.

Chatsworth, ancestral home of the Devonshire family is set in the heart of the Peak District in Derbyshire, on the banks of the river Derwent.  Over 20 rooms in the house will be lavishly decorated following a theme to be announced later.

We will depart from Crab and Winkle at 07:45 and Hampton Serpentine (Tesco bus stop) at 08:00 to hopefully arrive at Chatsworth between 10:00 and 10:30.   Our house entrance will be at a certain time, but other than that, you will be free to plan the rest of your day according to your wishes. The cost is £54.

Depending on traffic and weather conditions, we may be able to visit the Chatsworth Farm Shop as well.  We will schedule our departure in order to be back in Peterborough between 18:30 and 19:00.

During periods of wet weather, the trackway and immediate areas may become slippery and muddy. We recommend you wear sturdy shoes suitable for walking on uneven ground and in muddy and wet conditions.  A tractor trailer land train is available at an additional cost which runs on a 45 minute loop around the major features of the garden. It will leave from outside the house exit but is not pre-bookable online and is subject to availability.  Please be aware this service may not run every day and routes may vary.

Accessibility

The house is based on three floors that are made accessible by a lift, allowing access to the entire visitor route for visitors with restricted mobility.  Electric scooters cannot be used inside the house. However, wheelchairs, manual and electric, and other smaller mobility aids may be used. The garden is accessible to visitors who use manual or electric wheelchairs and electric scooters, please take extra care on steeper slopes.   There is a lift on the back of the land trailer making it accessible for those using a wheelchair or other mobility aid.
The Carriage House restaurant, Cavendish restaurant and The Parlour are all fully accessible. The shops are also fully accessible; although space is limited inside the garden shop.
Large scale accessibility maps are available at the entrance to the house and garden. These show the location of steps and the  gradient of some sections of the paths. Please ask one of our team if you require one.
Please note that we do have manual wheelchairs for use in the house and garden and electric scooters for use in the garden only. They can be booked in advance at a cost of £5 per day for either a wheelchair or scooter by calling 01246 565300. Wheelchairs can be collected from the house entrance underneath the flagpole. Electric scooters can be collected from Floras garden entrance. For safety reasons, at the discretion of our staff, we reserve the right not to issue scooters in bad weather.
