THE MEMBERSHIP YEAR RUNS FROM 1ST SEPTEMBER TO 31ST AUGUST. THERE IS NO PRO RATA SYSTEM. MEMBERS ENROLLING UP TO 1ST JUNE IN ANY YEAR WILL BE REQUIRED TO RENEW THEIR MEMBERSHIP BY 1ST SEPTEMBER OF THAT YEAR. THOSE ENROLLING AFTER 1ST JUNE WILL HAVE MEMBERSHIP UNTIL 31ST AUGUST THE FOLLOWING YEAR.
Learn and enjoy activities with others of a similar mind
Learning and participating with others can be enjoyable and motivating. Peterborough u3a gives people the chance to learn or participate in activities together in a friendly and supportive environment. Members share their knowledge and experiences rather than relying on formal teachers.
In u3a groups, people meet to learn and have fun in different subjects such as sports, languages, art, or just gentle exercises. Everyone can contribute ideas, ask questions, and learn at their own pace.
Learning with others also helps build friendships and keeps people socially active. It shows that education and personal growth can continue throughout life while enjoying the company of others.
Laugh with friends
Our ethos is learning and participation with a difference. There are no teachers and students, no classes and no exams.
Laughing with others is an important part of staying happy and connected. The U3A offers many opportunities for members to share fun moments while taking part in different activities. When people meet in groups to discuss topics, play games, or join social events, laughter often comes naturally.
Sharing jokes, stories, and light-hearted conversations helps create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. It also helps members feel comfortable and confident when meeting new people. Our Monthly Meetings can be attended by Non-Members just to see what we are about
Live for the moment
With Peterborough u3a, retirement or reduced hours working is just the beginning. We know it can feel lonely when you move to a new area, lose your workspace as an outlet or find yourself living alone in later life. By connecting with others through the things you love, you can rebuild your network and find your community.

Having recently made another expedition to Antarctica, this time following in the wake of Sir Earnest Shackleton from South Georgia to the Weddell Sea, Elephant Island and South Georgia on his famous Endurance Expedition - an incredible story of survival, leadership, and erm, endurance.

| Neil is a successful author with 70 published books. As well as his own works, he’s also a “ghost writer”. His clients include an American showbiz legend, an England legendary cricketer, a famous actor, a decorated soldier, an England football manager and a man who turned his family’s bakery into Britain’s biggest fast-food chain. | AGM Jack Hunt School - Sat 24th Oct Doors open 9:30 to start at 10:00 Please do not arrive too early as the Caretaker won't be there to open the doors. As always, we are required to reach a certain number of attendees to make the event “legal” under our Constitution. If enough don’t turn up we have to cancel and reschedule, which will be a real pain. So if you can free up a couple of hours on the morning of the 24th October to show your support for the organisation that gives you so much fun and learning it would be great.
