This group is for anyone interested in Supporting Peterborough U3A Members and Committee in various tasks and roles, both at events and in more general ways.
We have a number of helper groups taking turns at events like Activities Day, Tea&Talk, and doing things like teas or car park duties, or welcoming new and potential members. We also have groups supporting the Committee with small projects and roles such as distribution of leaflets, visiting Activity groups and writing articles for Pulse.
There are also helpers for tasks such as administration of our PU3A, with a membership of over 2000.This Really Useful Group is not just about helping others but meeting new people of a like mind.
You help when you can, doing what you can. Any requests for help are not demands. If you are not available there is no pressure. The larger the group, the less often you will be asked to help.
It is not a regular commitment unless you want it to be.
We publicise what our helpers do, and their roles in Pulse.
The first step is to click the link and fill out the form. It is an easy-to-complete form, mostly just ticking boxes. This form will help categorise when, where and how you are able to help so we tailor our requests accordingly.
We will make sure that tasks that need some knowledge, such as setting up the audio speaker and microphone at an event, provide full training.
If you are interested, talk to any of the committee members at Tea&Talk or anywhere you see them, or click on the Blue Button top right (RUGs Task Form) where you'll find a link to a questionnaire at the foot of the page. Please complete this as a first step to joining the RUGS.
