Day Trips - Streetlife & Wilberforce Museum Hull

Group Description :
Streetlife & Wilberforce Museum Hull plus stop at Boundary Mills
£25 per person        Friday 13th February 2026

The Streetlife Museum of Transport is home to over 200 years of transport history spread across six galleries. This immersive world of bicycles, carriages, motorcars, railways and street life through the years is a visitor attraction not to be missed.

The museum showcases rare cars dating from 1897 which are part of the 1900 motor show, a 1940s street reconstruction and the original Cottingham North signal box which was moved to the site brick by brick. To top off your visit, experience the smells of a stable as you disembark from the Hull to York Mail Coach ride.

Wilberforce House was the birthplace of William Wilberforce, Hull’s famous anti-slavery campaigner. Now a historic museum, the galleries expose the realities of the transatlantic slave trade and its legacies.

Discover journals and artefacts that once belonged to William Wilberforce. Explore important items linked to slavery and abolition. And get a fascinating glimpse into the rich tapestry of West African culture.

The coach will depart from Tesco Serpentine Green at 08:00 (unless we can find another departure and drop off point where the charges are less or free - currently £7) We will then depart from the Crab & Winkle  Werrington at 08:15
We will use a coach with a toilet but may stop enroute for a quick break.
The plan is to depart Hull at 14:30 with a stop for about 1.5 hours at Boundary Mills Grantham where refreshments are available and to allow a spot of shopping.
We should be back into Peterborough by about 17:00

Whilst there isn't a café within either of the two museums, there is a hot drinks cart available in the front entrance of the Hull and East Riding Museum. This museum sits next to the Streetlife Museum. A short walk nearby are a range of pubs and café’s, as well as the indoor Trinity Market that has a range of street food style vendors. Slightly further away is Humber Street where there are further bars, cafes and restaurants.
